Chakra 2012.04 Archimedes Release

第2版的 Archimedes release 有一些好消息和一些壞消息。

好消息是在Calligra team一年的辛苦工作下，我們終於推出第一個內含有Calligra Office Suite穩定版本的 DVD ISO。

壞消息是不會再有GUI版本的 package-management 。因為Appset-qt 或任何其他的 pacman GUI 前端介面都無法處理更複雜的更新程序，而chakra team覺得如果要使用者透過這個介面來升級將會需要更多的提醒注意事項，所以決定廢除pacman的圖形介面。

The Chakra Development Team is proud to announce the second Archimedes release, this codename follows the KDE SC 4.8 series.

從這個版本開始Chakra 不再內建GUI版本的 package management，因為它無法處理複雜更新程序。所以我們將它從預設的ISO映像檔中排除了。 Pacman 是指令介面的 package management，線上的 package viewer 會有較多的訊息。這次的更新主要是將KDE的版本更新到4.8.2，kernel 到 Linux 3.2.8, Qt 到 4.8.1，更新sound stack，krb5，phonon packages...等等，將modulue-init-tools 轉換到 kmod。

Chakra 提供 DVD 和 CD 兩個版本。CD version 是讓你使用精減版本的 KDE desktop，其中包含文字編輯器，檔案管理工具還有瀏覽器以及一個簡單媒體播放器，沒有其他的 apps，沒有語言包。DVD version 包含 所有的語言包，常見的KDE apps，calligra 2.4.0 (libre-office被換掉了)，amarok，kde-telepathy，spideroak，printer support，minitube，k3b...等等

- Linux 3.2.8 (3.0.22 optional)

- DVD image, including all locales and a nice selections of apps
- minimal CD image you can build your desktop on
- tomoyo-tools 2.5 added to a default install, for more security options
- wqy-microhei became the new default font for Chinese/Japanese/Korean
- QtWebkit 2.2.1
- updated initscripts with the option to test systemd
- Switch to kmod
